Restylane Dermal Fillers in Miami
The Restylane family of hyaluronic acid fillers offers a product for every treatment area — lips, cheeks, nasolabial folds, under-eyes, jawline, and hands. Natural-looking, reversible results with minimal downtime at Rewind Anti-Aging of Miami.
What Is Restylane?
Restylane is a family of FDA-approved hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers designed to restore volume, smooth wrinkles, and enhance facial contours. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found in your skin, connective tissue, and joints that binds water and provides hydration and structural support. As we age, our natural HA levels decline alongside collagen, elastin, and subcutaneous fat — leading to volume loss, deepening lines, and sagging.
Originally developed in Sweden, Restylane was the first HA filler approved by the FDA and remains one of the most trusted and widely used dermal filler brands worldwide. The Restylane product line now includes six distinct formulations, each engineered with specific gel characteristics for particular treatment areas and concerns.
Because Restylane is made from hyaluronic acid, it is fully reversible — it can be dissolved at any time using an enzyme called hyaluronidase. This provides a critical safety advantage over non-HA fillers. At Rewind Anti-Aging of Miami, the Restylane family is our primary filler line, and we carry the full product range to match the right formulation to each treatment area.
The Restylane Family of Fillers
Each Restylane product is engineered with a specific gel consistency and lifting capacity for particular treatment areas. All contain built-in lidocaine for patient comfort during injection.

Restylane
The original. Versatile, medium-density HA gel ideal for moderate lines and folds. Integrates smoothly into tissue for natural correction.
Restylane Lyft
Firmer, more volumizing formulation designed for deeper injection. Lifts and contours the cheek area and is FDA-approved for hand rejuvenation.
Restylane Kysse
Built with XpresHAn Technology specifically for lips. Flexible gel moves naturally with lip expression, providing volume, shape, and color enhancement.
Restylane Defyne
Cross-linking technology allows the gel to flex with facial movement while maintaining its shape — ideal for jawline definition and deep fold correction.
Restylane Contour
Provides definition and projection while blending smoothly into surrounding tissue for a sculpted, natural appearance.
Restylane Refyne
Softer, more flexible gel that preserves natural expression — you can smile, talk, and laugh without the filler looking stiff.
Where We Use Restylane
The Restylane family covers every major treatment area on the face and hands. Each area uses a specific product selected for optimal results.
Lips
Add volume, define the lip border, enhance the cupid's bow, and improve lip symmetry with a flexible gel designed to move naturally with lip expression. Results last 6-9 months.
Cheeks & Midface
Restore age-related volume loss in the cheeks and midface, providing a subtle lifting effect that also improves nasolabial folds and under-eye hollows from above. Results last 12-18 months.
Nasolabial Folds
Restylane / Defyne
Smooth the lines running from the nose to the corners of the mouth. Medium-density gel integrates into tissue for natural-looking correction of moderate to severe folds.
Under-Eyes (Tear Troughs)
Restylane
Carefully placed filler smooths the tear trough transition between the lower eyelid and cheek, reducing shadowing and the tired, hollow appearance caused by volume loss.
Jawline & Chin
Restylane Defyne
Structural filler that creates jawline definition, sharpens the jaw angle, strengthens a weak chin, and reduces early jowling. Cross-linked gel flexes with movement while maintaining shape.
Hands
FDA-approved for hand rejuvenation. Restores volume to the backs of the hands, reducing the visibility of tendons and veins that become prominent with age.
Restylane Results
One of the key advantages of Restylane is that results are visible immediately after injection. Unlike Botox, which takes days to take effect, or Sculptra, which builds results over months, you will leave your appointment with visible improvement in volume, contour, and smoothness.
Some initial swelling is normal and expected — particularly with lip filler. The final result is best assessed at two weeks once all swelling has fully resolved and the filler has settled and integrated with your natural tissue.
Duration varies by product and treatment area. Lip fillers (Restylane Kysse) typically last 6-9 months. Cheek and midface fillers (Restylane Lyft) last 12-18 months. Deeper structural fillers like Restylane Defyne last 12+ months. Areas with more movement tend to metabolize filler faster than areas with less movement.
Results look natural because Restylane integrates seamlessly with your existing tissue. Our conservative, layered approach means we start with less product and add at follow-up — the goal is to look refreshed and enhanced, never overdone.
Duration by Treatment Area
- Lips (Kysse) — 6-9 months. Higher metabolic activity in this area means faster breakdown.
- Nasolabial Folds — 6-12 months. Moderate movement area with good filler retention.
- Cheeks & Midface (Lyft) — 12-18 months. Less movement means longer-lasting correction.
- Jawline & Chin (Defyne) — 12+ months. Deep placement and structural gel provide durable support.
- Hands (Lyft) — 12-18 months. Low-movement area with excellent filler longevity.
What to Expect During Your Restylane Treatment
Performed in our office with no general anesthesia and minimal downtime. Most treatments take 30-45 minutes.
Consultation
We examine your facial anatomy, discuss your concerns and goals, and develop a treatment plan — which Restylane products, how many syringes, and which areas to address.
Preparation
The treatment area is cleansed and topical numbing cream is applied if needed, particularly for lip treatments. This takes approximately 15-20 minutes.
Injection
Treatment takes 30-45 minutes depending on the areas being addressed. We inject using fine needles or cannulas, sculpting and molding the product as it is placed.
Immediate Results
Unlike Botox, Restylane results are visible immediately. Some initial swelling is normal — the final result is best assessed at 2 weeks once swelling fully resolves.
Follow-Up
A two-week follow-up appointment allows us to evaluate results and perform touch-ups if needed. We always start conservative — it is easier to add than to correct overfilling.
Side Effects
Restylane has an excellent safety profile. The most common side effects are mild and temporary:
- Swelling — Most common, particularly with lip filler. Peaks at 24-48 hours and resolves within 3-5 days. Ice and head elevation help manage swelling.
- Bruising — Occurs at injection sites in some patients. Typically resolves within 5-7 days. Minimized by avoiding blood thinners and alcohol before treatment.
- Tenderness — Mild soreness at injection sites for 1-3 days is normal and resolves on its own without intervention.
- Lumps — Small lumps may be palpable immediately after injection. Most smooth out within 1-2 weeks as the filler settles and integrates. Persistent lumps can be massaged or dissolved.
Aftercare Guidelines
Following your Restylane treatment, proper aftercare helps optimize results and minimize side effects:
- Apply ice to the treatment area for 10-15 minutes at a time during the first 24 hours to reduce swelling.
- Avoid intense exercise, alcohol, and excessive heat (sauna, hot yoga) for 24-48 hours after treatment.
- Sleep with your head slightly elevated the first night to minimize morning swelling.
- Do not massage or apply pressure to the treatment area unless specifically instructed by your provider.
- Most patients return to work and normal activities the same day or the following day.

What is Restylane made of?
Restylane is made from hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring sugar molecule found in your skin, connective tissue, and joints. The HA in Restylane is produced through a controlled bacterial fermentation process — it is not derived from animal sources, which means the risk of allergic reaction is extremely low. No allergy testing is required before treatment. Once injected, Restylane integrates with your natural tissue and gradually breaks down over time through your body's normal metabolic processes.
How long does Restylane last?
Duration varies by product and treatment area. Restylane Kysse (lips) typically lasts 6-9 months. Restylane (nasolabial folds, marionette lines) lasts 6-12 months. Restylane Lyft (cheeks, midface, hands) lasts 12-18 months. Restylane Defyne (jawline, deep folds) lasts 12+ months. Areas with more movement — like the lips — metabolize filler faster than areas with less movement, like the cheeks. Individual metabolism also plays a significant role in how long results last.
Can Restylane be dissolved if I don't like the results?
Yes. Because Restylane is a hyaluronic acid filler, it can be dissolved using an enzyme called hyaluronidase. The dissolution process is quick and typically takes effect within 24-48 hours. This reversibility is one of the primary safety advantages of HA fillers over non-HA alternatives like Sculptra or Radiesse. We always keep hyaluronidase on hand for both elective dissolution and emergency vascular safety protocols.
Does Restylane hurt?
Discomfort is minimal. All Restylane products contain lidocaine, a local anesthetic built directly into the gel that numbs the treatment area as the filler is injected. For sensitive areas like the lips, we also apply topical numbing cream 15-20 minutes before the procedure. Most patients describe the sensation as mild pressure with occasional brief stinging. The lips tend to be the most sensitive treatment area, but even lip filler is tolerable for the vast majority of patients.
What is the difference between Restylane and Juvederm?
Both are hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, but they use different manufacturing technologies and have distinct gel characteristics. Restylane uses NASHA and XpresHAn technology to create a granular, particulate gel that provides precise, controlled correction. Juvederm uses Hylacross and Vycross technology to create a smoother gel. Many providers — including ours — find that specific Restylane products offer superior performance in certain treatment areas. Product selection should always be based on the specific area being treated and the desired outcome.
How much does Restylane cost?
Restylane is priced per syringe. The number of syringes needed depends on the treatment area, the degree of correction desired, and your individual anatomy. Lip augmentation typically requires 1 syringe, while cheek volumization may require 1-2 syringes per side. We provide transparent pricing during your consultation based on a personalized treatment plan tailored to your goals. Call us at (305) 922-9622 for current pricing information.
